So the following list is strictly my opinion but feel free to share your own top five down in
the comments sections. Back in 2008, I shared my top 3 scariest exits
- Sunland Park & Mesa (pick morning or afternoon rush hour)
- Zaragoza & Montwood (awful at any time of the day)
- Montana & Airway
- Any intersection that crosses over 375 in the NE currently
- Rojas & 375 (currently, it’s exiting for Rojas and trying to merge with traffic…absolutely a nightmare. Yes, this his holdover from that 2008 post…still an awful area to drive in)
My name is David and I am living El Paso.

I would say the intersection at Sunland Park and Mesa Hills, where people are trying to go to Ihop, Barnes and Noble and Target
My sister got stucked today at the Free Way she was very late to work, it was chaoz!!
el paso needs two freeways that circle the city, just like san antonio, dallas and other cities do. Our loop 375 wont help, it only helps the northeast people. Some way some how, we need a transit system so people won’t drive, especially students from EPCC and UTEP and a super freeway, like Mexico city have. As a matter of fact, El Paso might have the ugliest traffic in Texas when it comes to Austin,San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth , Houston. El Paso is not spread with suburbs like those cities, its like a city within a city. Imagine when downtown becomes a hit, when Utep expands and EPCC, when new restaurants open around the city. Its going to be chaos in EPT
I agree with Bob, that’s a terrible intersection. I was there earlier this week and it was hectic just to cross the street.
I’d add Lee Trevino and I-10 for most of the day and Lee Trevino & Montwood during lunch. It’s crazy when thousands of students come out of the school and into the streets.
