Spy On Cloudcroft, NM

Yep, that’s right, you can spy on the town of Cloudcroft from your computer.   So it’s not really spying but it’s a fun site where you can view two different webcams that have been posted in town.  It’s really fun to watch the time lapse video as a snow storm moves in.  All you have to do is type in http://cloudcroftwebcam.com/ and voila, there is the town of Cloudcroft on your computer screen.  Enjoy!

Snow 2 days B4 XMAS in El Paso!

I hope this winter doesn’t spoil me for years to come, but I now expect snow every year, multiple times.  Waking up this morning to about a half inch of the white stuff was awesome and so close to Christmas!  While it probably won’t stick through the 25th, it is great to see it on the ground right now.  Hmmm….anybody up for a warm cup of hot chocolate  before work??

Snow Paso

So I flew in to El Paso early this morning to find the ground white with snow.  What a beautiful site it was!  Our Southwest crew played some Marty Robbins as we taxied in to the terminal with snow falling around us.  I’ve been taking many pictures today and plan to post them up to my flickr account later on.  If you get the chance, get out and enjoy the white stuff!

Skiing up at Ski Apache & Cloudcroft

The snow flurries last night made me think about skiing up at Ski Apache.  I checked the weather reports and saw that they are about 20% open.  One great thing about living in El Paso is that skiing/snowboarding is only 3 or so hours away and you can make it a day trip.

Another place you could head to would be Cloudcroft, NM.  Check out their site.  With the new snow from the past couple days, they are hoping to open up on Monday.

My first snow in El Paso

The weather nerd in me got a huge surprise yesterday.   As you know, we got a little bit of snow today.  No need to break out the ice trucks or snow plows, but it was time to breakout my camera.  Some of you may be laughing at me right now, but you have to understand where I grew up.  I was born and raised in San Antonio, a place where snow seems to only fall every 20 years.  I’ve been skiing before, but this was different.  The flakes actually fell where I lived.  Although it didn’t last long, I enjoyed every minute of it.  Maybe next time it will stick.
